The Voice
Turbo has big dreams. Every night he watches racecar footage, and he wants more than anything to be that fast. However, he is just a snail and therefore very slow. That changes one night when he accidentally ends up in the engine of a car during a street race. The driver uses nitrous oxide, which fuses to his cells, and he becomes as fast as any racecar. A man and his brother who own a taco stand sees Turbo’s newfound talents and enters Turbo in the Indie 500 to win publicity for his stand.
This movie is a potential classic that will be remembered for years to come. The premise, while unbelievable, is very creative. The jokes are often funny and there is a good moral story for the children.
This movie does something other children’s’ movies fail to do. Often they contain filler scenes that serve no purpose except to take up time. The movie does a good job of making sure most scenes have a purpose and move the story along. This helps the overall pacing, which makes it enjoyable for children and adults.
I give this 5 out of 5 starts. There are some flaws in the movie, namely some pointless characters. However, this does not detract from the entertainment value it presents. It’s a great movie that will keep adults and children entertained from beginning to end.
Content: Rated PG. I did not find much in the movie that could be considered objectionable. There is one part where a character says “God” as an expletive. There is some very mild violence. Parents should take their kids at their discretion.
